Technical characteristics
The HDZero Camera Switcher 2 allows you to connect two HDZero MIPI cameras to a single video transmitter (VTX) and switch instantly from one to the other while in flight.
The setup is designed to be simple: just connect the MIPI cables to both cameras and assign the “Camera Control 1” command to a switch via your flight controller (such as Betaflight, iNav, or ArduPilot). In this standard configuration, no soldering is required.
This device opens the door to many use cases: switching from a camera optimized for daytime flying to one optimized for low light (IR-cut / IR-cut-removed), combining a forward-facing view with a downward view, adding a rear-facing camera on an RC car, or alternating between a wide-angle lens and a more zoomed-in one. Switching between cameras is nearly instantaneous when they are of the same generation.
For advanced users, the switcher offers additional features such as manual GPIO control, an advanced “VTX-only” mode, and the ability to daisy-chain multiple modules to exceed the two-camera limit.
Compact and lightweight, the module integrates directly into your stack without creating unwanted bulk.
With the HDZero Camera Switcher, you can turn your FPV setup into a flexible multi-camera system that remains easy to configure and fully compatible with the HDZero ecosystem.
